Risk Management Professional

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a Risk Management Framework in a manner that covers risks across the company, including but not limited to investment risk/interest rate risk, market risk, credit risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, legal risk, and reputation risk in compliance with the laws and accreditation standards laid out by the regulator(s).
  • Develop risk analytics and quant reports for the funds under management along with thresholds and identifying and monitoring of market and its trends with respect to the risk pertaining to the funds.
  • Carry out Operational risk review of adequacy of controls with respects to the departmental procedural and Policy manuals.
  • Able to build and implement market, liquidity and credit risks models for risk base assessment of portfolios.
  • Monitoring of Interest rate sensitivities of fixed income-based funds using duration convexity and to measure the interest rate sensitivity on the funds;
  • Conducting the Credit Risk Analysis of the entities having exposure in Fixed Income instruments from financial or non-financial entities using the financial analysis, Credit Ratios, CAMELs for banks or any other effective tool.
  • Observing the Fund performance, which includes the risk analysis and risk adjusted performance of funds.

Education:

Actuarial Sciences & Risk Management or BS Computational Finance or any other relevant qualification from a recognized University preferably with certification of Financial Risk Manager (FRM).

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of working experience in the domain of Risk Management preferably with a Financial Institution.

Senior Research Analyst

Job Summary:

  • As a Senior Product Development Analyst, you will work with the Product Development team to research industry trends, prepare correspondence, analyze product initiatives, and assist in the development of innovative investment products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Product Development team to conduct comprehensive secondary source research on the asset management industry, products, market demands, and industry changes. Provide valuable insights to shape our product strategy.
  • Assist in the preparation of correspondence related to product development and regulatory compliance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in documentation.
  • Analyze and deliver product-related initiatives that address the unique needs of various distribution channels, ensuring our products are well-positioned to serve diverse customer segments.
  • Support in the drafting of constitutive documents for collective investment schemes and assist in obtaining approvals from relevant regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Assist in obtaining ratings from credit rating agencies regarding the organization and various investment schemes, to enhance the credibility of our offerings in the market.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development team in preparing presentations on various topics to be presented to the board and clients. Highlight the innovative solutions and opportunities offered by our company.
  • Ensure that all existing product offerings are up-to-date in terms of product features and regulatory requirements, maintaining the quality and compliance of our products.

Experience:

  • 2 – 3 years of experience within the specific domain of Product Development.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Assistant Fund Manager – Fixed Income Funds

Job Summary:
As an Assistant Fund Manager – Fixed Income Funds, you will work closely with the fund managers and with other departments to drive fund performance, compliance, and relationship management with external stakeholders. This will support the management and growth of our investment portfolios.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting interest rates, which includes assessing underlying variables like inflation, currency fluctuations, and current account deficits that have an influence on monetary policy choices.
  • Assess macroeconomic factors’ possible effects on the performance of fixed income funds by analyzing them, since this will give you useful information for making decisions.
  • Assist in choosing the best asset allocation and securities selection techniques by matching them to the goals, benchmarks, restrictions, and risk profiles of the funds.
  • Work with Primary Dealers and Fixed Income Brokers, such as the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), to get competitive pricing for corporate and governmental securities.
  • Maintain a good professional relationship with the banks to secure a better deposit rate across all funds.
  • Periodically perform credit evaluations of securities within the portfolio to monitor and control overall credit risk exposure.
  • Effectively participate in the auction of Federal Government securities as and when required.
  • Monitor and invest cash flows resulting from client subscriptions and redemptions.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Assistant Fund Manager – Equity Funds

Job Summary:

As an Assistant Fund Manager – Equity Funds, you will work closely with the fund managers and with other departments to drive fund performance, compliance, and relationship management with external stakeholders. This will support the management and growth of our investment portfolios.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Investments team to assess the macroeconomic and political landscape, identifying material developments that may affect fund performance.
  • Efficiently allocate funds across equity securities, considering factors such as investment case strength; earnings forecast reliability, price volatility, liquidity, and potential material events.
  • Utilize analytical skills, financial models, industry insights, and primary/secondary research to identify undervalued securities that can outperform the fund’s benchmark.
  • Establish the best asset allocation methods while accounting for the fund performance goals, benchmarks, restrictions, and risk profiles.
  • Exercise prudence and due diligence to ensure the accuracy of information used for investment decisions, minimizing the risk of losses relative to the benchmark.

Job Responsibilities:

Leadership, Strategy and Industry Research:

  • Develop and implement research strategies that align with the company’s investment objectives and market conditions.
  • Define the research agenda, prioritize coverage areas, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of research analysts, ensuring the production of high-quality research reports and investment recommendations.
  • Continuously monitor and assess the performance of the AMC industry, identifying key trends, benchmarks, and competitive dynamics.
  • Conduct in-depth research into long-term industry and market trends, identifying opportunities and threats that may impact our strategic direction.

  • Provide comprehensive research coverage on funds under management using proprietary valuation models and disseminate investment recommendations.

Asset Allocation and Portfolio Optimization:

  • Keep track of asset allocation in mutual funds in line with in-house limits, regulatory compliance, market outlook, and investment constraints.
  • Develop and implement investment strategies, both quantitative and qualitative, to optimize portfolio performance, considering market conditions, client objectives, and risk parameters.

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the specific domain of Research.
